Public Transport
A bus stop is only a few minutes' walk from the property, with services connecting Midway Point with nearby areas including Sorell and Hobart.
Public transport can be useful for trips into Hobart, although services may be less frequent in the evenings, on weekends and on public holidays.
We recommend checking the latest timetable before travelling.
Getting to Hobart
Hobart CBD is approximately 25 minutes away by car.
Driving is usually the easiest option, especially if you are planning to visit several attractions in one day.
Once in Hobart, popular areas such as the waterfront, Salamanca Place and Battery Point are easy to explore on foot.
Getting to Richmond
Historic Richmond is approximately 15 minutes away by car.
It is an easy half-day or full-day trip from Stayvia Midway Point and can be combined with cafes, wineries and local produce throughout the Coal River Valley.
Getting to Sorell
Sorell is only around 7 minutes away and is the closest main shopping area.
You will find supermarkets, cafes, takeaway food, pharmacies, fuel stations and everyday essentials there.
Exploring the Tasman Peninsula
If you are planning to visit Port Arthur, Eaglehawk Neck, Tasman Arch or other Tasman Peninsula attractions, travelling by car is strongly recommended.
Stayvia Midway Point is well positioned for exploring this part of Tasmania without needing to travel through central Hobart first.
