Four Easy Itineraries

Here are four easy itineraries for guests who would rather explore than spend time planning.

Day Trip 1 — Richmond & Coal River Valley

Best for History, Food & Wine

Stayvia Midway Point → Richmond → Local Produce → Coal River Valley Winery → Home

Start the morning in historic Richmond, around 15 minutes from the property.

Visit Richmond Bridge, wander through the historic village and stop for coffee or breakfast. If you are interested in convict history, add Richmond Gaol before lunch.

Afterwards, continue into the Coal River Valley.

Stop at Wicked Cheese or Coal River Farm, then choose one winery such as Pooley Wines, Puddleduck Vineyard or Every Man & His Dog.

Return to Stayvia Midway Point in the late afternoon.

Day Trip 2 — Tasman Peninsula & Port Arthur

Best for Scenery & Tasmanian History

Stayvia Midway Point → Eaglehawk Neck → Tessellated Pavement → Coastal Sights → Port Arthur → Home

Head towards the Tasman Peninsula in the morning.

Stop around Eaglehawk Neck to see the coastline and geological formations before continuing deeper into the peninsula.

Spend the main part of the day at the Port Arthur Historic Site, then return toward Midway Point in the afternoon.

If you prefer hiking, substitute some sightseeing time with a Tasman National Park walk.

Day Trip 3 — Hobart Highlights

Best for First-Time Visitors

Stayvia Midway Point → Salamanca → Battery Point → Waterfront → kunanyi / Mount Wellington → Home

Begin at Salamanca Place and explore the nearby streets.

If it is Saturday, visit Salamanca Market before walking up into Battery Point.

Head back toward the waterfront for lunch and a walk around Constitution Dock.

Later in the afternoon, drive toward kunanyi / Mount Wellington. If the summit is clear, finish the day with panoramic views over Hobart and southern Tasmania.

Best for a Slow Coastal Day

Continue toward Dodges Ferry for a coastal drive and an easy lunch or coffee stop.

Spend the afternoon at Carlton Beach, where there is plenty of space for a longer walk along the coast.

Return to Stayvia Midway Point before dinner.
